10 Weeks

Yesterday we reached the 10 week mark. It seems like time is going by faster than ever, but never seems fast enough to get us to the next appt! Since I'm a realist, I need to see the baby to ensure he/she is ok and growing at a healthy rate.

Since Friday I've been able to eat dinner - like real food! That started the first time in a few weeks. I'm still trying to eat healthier, but still leaning towards crackers, bread and lots of ginger ale. I woke up on Monday not really feeling the symptoms of pregnancy and feel pretty normal. Maybe that's the first trimester coming to an end? I got on the scale this morning & it said I weighed 8lbs LESS than what I did before I was pregnant. I laughed so hard. I'm pretty sure it's broken but I'm not in a hurry to replace it.

Last week I had 3 people (other than Jared) tell me that it's a boy. I have no premonition just yet but we'll be able to find out in early February.

We need to be making progress cleaning out the house, closets, etc - all of which we needed to do before but now we have a reason. That way we can get our stuff out of the way so we can start getting the baby's room ready in the spring. We've received a lot of sweet cards & a few gifts. Penn State embroidered booties, a Boo Boo Bunny and each day there is a "find-a-gift" at my desk. I've been finding fun toys for baby to play with in the bath. Believe it or not, I haven't done any looking or shopping - which is hard to believe because all I need is an excuse to shop. But, it's too early for that & we're focusing on Christmas now.

In other good news, our foster dog Wolfy has a new forever home. A great couple is adopting him & a 3-year old female basset just after the holidays after the female completes her medical treatments. We will be sad when he leaves but the couple is very, very nice and he'll have a great life there.

More to come next week after our appt on Monday. I'm looking forward to seeing some arms and legs this time instead of a furry blueberry!
